Mohare & Khopra Danda Trek

This recently promoted trail is outstanding with the views of the Himalayas including Mount Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Machhapuchchhre (fishtail), Nilgiri and many other snow-capped mountains and hills. Obviously less crowded than other trails is for all ages are profoundly lavish thick pine, oak, rhododendron and bamboo woods. This trekking have the views of exquisite vistas, crossing delightful ethnic tribes of Magar, Gurung, Kami, Damai, Chetri and Brahmin villages boasting its flawlessly terraced cultivating terrains. The challenging but main attraction of this trek is the holy Khair Lake (Khayer Tal), which stands tall at the height of 4600 meters offering the sight of the lake as well as the majestic mountain views.

Day 1: Arrival Kathmandu, Transfer to hotel

Day 2: Free day in Kathmandu, Option: Valley tour.

Day 3: Fly to POkhara. Transfer to hotel. Explore the city.

Day 4: Drive to Nayapul and trek to Purna Gaun (5.30 hrs walk).

Drive will take around 1 and half hours with the short break to view the Himalayas from Kande. The trail goes down to Modi River, crossing the river and the then the trail becomes gradual up, we cross several villages like Deupur Village, Kalyani, Maidan, Jogithum, Harmar till the end to our destination to Purna Gaun. Passing The trail passes villages with verdant cultivated fields.

Day 5: Trek to Lespar Village (2320m./ 8 hrs walk)

We walk through the beautiful rural village for about an hour before entering the forest. Today's trail is almost walking through lush green forest and almost to Lespar Village. WE also pass small rural villages like Langdi, Dandakharka, and Chwai thorugh paddy fields along with forest walk. Lespar village is situated towards south of Mohare Danda.

Day 6: Lespar to Nagi Village.(2300 nt/ 7 hrs)

Trekking trail to nag village mostly covers with green forest with some steep hill with a wide view of the green valley. Nagi is a traditional Nepalese village of Magars and Pun widely know for Gurkhas. The views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himalayas ranges from nagi Village is spectacular.

Day 7:Nangi-Mohare Danda (3300 m/ 5 hrs)

Sun rise morning views of Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri & Annapurna Fang & South are spectacular, The climb today is initially 3 hrs straight up to Hampal Pass (3008m) through beautiful rhododendron & daphnia forests in full bloom. Here we had lunch at the skeletal hut that marks the pass. After lunch the trekking is through even more stunning oak & rhododendron forest before reaching Mohare Danda (3300m) after 2 hours. Mohare Danda is perched on the top of a ridge with steep sides and is purpose built for trekkers. It has stunning views of the mountains sweeping from Dhaulagiri to Manaslu such as Machapuchare (Fishtail), south Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Tukche and many more.

Day 8:Mohare Danda-Swanta (2300 mt./7.30 hrs)

Around 2hrs down the hill to Dandakharka (2800m.) along the way we pass rhododendron forest. Further walk is up to Swanta (2300m) today. Stopping at Phalante (on the Annapurna Circuit trail) is for lunch. Walk is reminiscent of walking through European alpine forest and meadow, complete with buffalo with large bells around their necks. From Phalante it is a descent to the river (where a water mill for grinding flour is still in operation below the bridge), before ascending up to Swanta village.

Day 9: Swanta-Dhankharka (3026m/5 hrs)

An uphill day thru dense forest of bamboo, rhododendron and oak. We can see troop of monkeys early on and after 2.5hrs reached a tea stall at Alkharka, we have lunch break here. After lunch and another 2-2.5hrs uphill we reached Chistibung or Dhankharka.

Day 10: DhanKharka- Khopra Danda (3600m. / 5 hrs):

A 600m climb of 3hrs today to Khopra Danda (at 3600m). Once again through superb but more sparse rhododendron forest in full flower. We come across yaks about half way up, lazing & grazing in the sun. Khopra Danda is a ridge with sweeping views. The views of Annapurna south, Annapurna Fang, NIlgiri, tuluche Peak & Dhaulagiri stands tall with their amazing attraction. We can encounter with the trekkers (most having ascended from the east via Bayeli and Tadapani).

Day 11: Day hike to Khayer Lake & back to Khopra danda.

The long day hike to this remote sacred lake at the foot of Annapurna Fang is a strenuous but rewarding side trip climbing 1000 m from Khopra Danda to Khayer Lake at 4660 m (15,289 ft). You will need to pack a lunch and bring water or water purification equipment with you since there is no lodging along the route or at the lake. This hike brings you right next to the soaring rock and ice of the Annapurna Massif.

Day 12: Khopra Dnada-Dobato (5 hrs)

After a great sunrise and amazing views of majestic mountains, we descend down to Dobato, The trail is almost going down. Passing through the forest, can see rhododendron and other beautiful flowers en route. We stop at Bayeli for lunch again walk down till to Dobato. Its about 4.30 to 5 hours walk. The view of Machhapuchare and Annapurnba range is breath taking.

Day 13: Dobato- Ghandruk (1940 m / 5hrs)

It's an easy walk down to Ghandruk. We stop at Tadapani for lunch and then walk again down to Ghandruk passing forest, waterfall. Its about 5 hrs walk.

Day14: Ghandruk-Nayapu, transfer to Pokhara (800 mt./5 hrs)

Again almost downhill trail via Syaulibazar to Nayapul and take a drive to Pokhara.

Day 15: Fly to Kathmandu. Transfer to hotel. Free day in Kathmandu.

Day 16: Final departure, transfer to airport.
